QUICK QUOTE Occhio particle size and shape analyzers , are the collaboration of many years of focused research in the fields of optics, lighting, and digital imaging.
Common methods of particle size analysis include laser diffraction, and sieve analysis, both of which are based on the assumption that a sample is comprised of spherical particles.
While these methods of gathering size distribution information, provide usable results, they lack in application, when compared with digital imaging technology.

The Inner Diameter is the diameter of the maximum inscribed circle (the maximum circle lying completely inside the particle).

The sample is fed on to the hopper, either through an adjustable height funnel, or with the addition of an auxiliary dispersion sieve. The hopper vibrates, and the sample travels to the vacuum entry point. Two parallel glass slides provide a laminar flow chamber, so the particles pass by the lens in an oriented fashion.
